CLC Library Instruction: Home

Committed to providing instruction that best suits our learners, CLC library faculty partner with classroom faculty to offer expertise in the use and evaluation of information in an ever-changing world. Whether you're looking to collaborate over the course of a semester or wanting your students to work one-on-one with a library faculty member, we've got options.

Low Commitment, High Impact

A great option for the instructor who's short on time but still values cross-faculty collaboration. Start with step 1 then continue with step 2.

First, choose a selection of videos for your students to watch. View in class together or assign to watch at home, your choice. We have a full suite of videos to choose from. Want a video made that you don't see in the list? Contact us!

To link to a video in your course materials copy/paste the video title into materials (in most cases the URL should come along with your copy/paste command). Alternatively, click through to a video's page and then copy the page URL from the address bar. We will have more videos coming soon!
One-on-one research appointments provide your students with personalized research time with a librarian. Appointments available at all campuses and online. Day and evening hours available. Using appointments for a class? Let us know!

Sample syllabus/assignment language:

Option 1: Making an appointment with a librarian is simple. If you're ready to book, make your research appointment now. If it's your first time making an appointment or if you have questions about the process, use the tutorial on booking an appointment.

Option 2: To make an appointment with a librarian, start at the library's homepage, scroll down and, under Services, select "schedule a research appointment."

Option 3 (direct links):

High Commitment, Higher Impact

Take your collaboration efforts one step further by working with an embedded librarian. Librarians work over multiple weeks (or the semester) with classroom instructors to formulate assignments, monitor discussion boards, create course/discipline-specific instruction, and more.

Librarians are available to collaborate at all campus locations. Call us to get started!
